First Blog !!
Just trying to figure out what blogging is all about, but, it looks interesting and there are so many very interesting creative people online to learn from. I hope to meet some of you via email or blog soon.
About Me.
I have been playing around with a needle & thread since I was about 10yrs old when my mother let me play with material scraps from her sewing which I would turn into dolls clothes for myself and my younger sister.
Mum used to make her own dresses and aprons as well as clothes for myself and my brothers on my grandmothers singer treadle. I loved that machine. She was always sewing, knitting, embroidering or crocheting something.
My grandmother and mother taught me to knit while I was getting over the measles when I was about 5yrs old. It seemed to me that everyone did something with some sort of needle, so it just felt natural for me to follow in their footsteps.

| Hexagon Quilt (paper pieced) |
I started my first quilt in 1985. An English paper pieced endeavor,
I finished it this year (finally) 2012.
Another of my quilts to get finished was a Memory quilt I made for my brother. We cut out all the logo's and badges from dozens of his football and fishing club shirts he had collected over the last 25 years. It seemed more practical to put them into a quilt than to save bags of shirts that would eventually be lost or thrown away.
